Comments Jazz Study was originally thought to be of doubtful authorship. However, a note on the envelope in which it was found states: "Doris Denison [sic] sent to JC 6/29/89. She says it is JC. He has no memory of it." The use of jazz elements is uncharacteristic, although the repetition of a limited number of musical elements is typical of other of Cage’s works from this period.
